What can Chinese Herbs help with?

The traditional Chinese healing method

Herbs that are properly prescribed and monitored make the use of Chinese herbs safe to use and most importantly very clinically effective to get you the results you are looking for. Best of all, they fit you the patient, so you are not wasting your time. You can read or hear about the benefits of an herb in a book, but it has to fit your body. We have to consider the effects of herbs on the patient and not simply because a study said it was good for a disease. That way of treating is a hit-or-miss approach.

With Chinese herbs, we dismantle the problem that is in place, to create a more LASTING change. We base things on treating your body. That's why the herbs need to be more tailor-made. Taking vitamins may be “good” for you, but you have to see a result in your health. So many people are taking vitamins that are helpful, but either they aren’t taking the right dose, or the vitamin is not addressing the whole picture, leaving more to be desired in your health care regimen.

Herbal formulas need to be tweaked and changed to guide your body’s blood flow back to normal. This is why Chinese herbs are so flexible and adaptable. We need to adapt and change the herbs to fit your body at stage 2 and then stage 3 of treatment. Unlike vitamins where you “prescribe it and leave it”, Chinese herbs have more of a dynamic effect on your body. The thing is, Chinese herbs seem so foreign to people, the newspapers tend to deride them and show how “unsafe” they are.

I use specific Chinese companies that certify what was grown, certify what was processed so we know from seed to feed exactly what we are purchasing and using on patients. Couple that with a seasoned herbalist, and you have a safe method of taking herbs.

Even one of the leading clinics is employing Chinese herbs. The Cleveland Clinic of Medicine uses a full fledged pharmacy in their clinic. If you do a search for Chinese herbal medicine, you will find the Tanya I. Edward MD, Center for Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine which is operated out of the Cleveland Clinic. Slowly, more and more people are turning to Chinese herbs for their healthcare needs.
